Over 5,300 pay day protest letters sent to DWP

DWP members outraged by the imposition of another 1% pay rise after years of high inflation and pensions contribution increases have sent protest e-letters to the Secretary of State, Iain Duncan Smith, and Permanent Secretary, Robert Devereux.

Members wrote “I need more than messages of thanks to live on” and “This situation of never-ending 1% caps on pay awards cannot go on.”

PCS is planning a major national pay campaign and consultation to challenge the 1% pay cap that chancellor George Osborne announced will continue for another four years.
