Hidden inside the pages of the Spending Review was confirmation that the government is yet again considering plans to sell-off the Land Registry.Only last year, a PCS-led campaign fought off attempts to move the Land Registry to a commercial model.

The Land Registry has consistently performed well in the public sector and is self-funding so there is no reason to sell if off.

A petition has been launched to oppose the privatisation and PCS has requested an urgent meeting with the Minister responsible for the Land Registry.
