BSD Annual Leave at Warbreck

Employer confirms that all leave has been agreed

The Branch had been sent details of line managers in BSD not following the BSD Senior Management policy on Annual Leave 2016.

PCS locally had thought that the letter that went out to all staff in BSD was relatively straightforward, i.e. if you work in BSD and provided that you haven’t booked more than their annual leave entitlement then the leave has been agreed by BSD Senior managers.

We wrote to the local Senior Managers in BSD, quoting the paragraph below:

“We are really pleased that we are able to agree the vast majority of requests, and line managers will be doing so over the next few days. The only exception will be for colleagues who have booked more than their annual leave entitlement – we will need them to confirm which days they will be taking, and we will make the other days available for short notice leave”.

We indicated that unfortunately there were line managers in BSD (Disability Benefits at Warbreck) who weren’t following the above and instead are re-visiting the agreed annual leave and cajoling staff to change their agreed weeks in order that their command meets an 18% quota.

The response from the local Senior Managers in BSD was as follows:

“I am responding on behalf of PIP Managers in Warbreck House.

I can confirm that managers in PIP in Warbreck House are following the announcements made in the BSD annual leave letter of 8th January 2016. Given the staffing changes, due to an increasing PIP caseload, managers have been considering the impacts on their operations but are not suggesting deviating from the national steers given.”
