A petition on the government website calling for the cessation of changes to the CSCS is available for members and for their families and friends and members of the public to be signed.

The petition makes the points that:

• Francis Maude, introduced changes to civil service redundancy terms in 2010 saying they were ‘fair for the taxpayer’ and ‘right for the long term’
• Civil servants feel betrayed that this promise is being broken as their terms and conditions come under fresh attack
• Massive changes to the CSCS are being proposed at a time when hundreds of government offices are earmarked for closure and thousands of loyal public sector workers face losing their jobs.

Members are asked to make every effort to and ask family and friends to sign.
