PCS shows support for Disabled People Against the Cuts (DPAC) Week of Action. At the end of last year the UK became the first country in the world to be investigated by the United Nations from grave and systematic violations of disabled people’s rights. This is as a direct result of austerity on disabled people and ideological attacks by the UK Government.
Historically PCS have always supported DPAC and have regularly invited speakers to various events, particularly our national disabled members seminar and meetings. We hold the same views on austerity and of its impact on disabled people.
DPAC will be using the Paralympic Games in Rio to draw attention to the cumulative impact of cuts on disabled people.
Please visit the DPAC website which highlights activities 4 – 10 September that you can take part in. http://dpac.uk.net/2016/08/rightsnotgames-week-of-action-
