Members have raised questions with the Branch on specific points. We have raised these with PCS DWP Group and have received answers, the details are published below:

Question 1:

I have been informed that colleagues working in the Corporate Centre/ IT will not be allowed to flex on from 7:30 am and that the flexi start will be 8:00 am

Please note that what it doesn’t say is something along the line of “Flexi start is 8 am unless you fix at 8 am in which case it is 7:30 am, or line manager agrees. In Corporate Centre as we are not having to fix start and end like the rest of the DWP, it will be assumed that staff could fix at 8 am and therefore can start at 7:30 am.”

Can you please advise if the above is correct?

This issue is covered by the new FWH Procedures, paras 2, b & c, which are described in the policy as Mandatory Principles.

2,b says that each employee will commit to fix either the start or end of the day.

Para 2, c says that flexi can be accrued from 8.00 (or from 7.30 for those with a 8.00 fixed start time)

This DWP-wide policy supersedes any comments or messages from local managers.
