Question 1:
We are still having problems in PIP Programme (part of Corporate Centre) regarding being allowed to start at 7:30 am i.e. “you can’t claim flexi before 8am unless you are travelling’.
Is this correct.
Answer
The following is an extract from a letter to the Departmental Trade Union Side from the Senior HR Business Partner, Department for Work and Pensions, Policy and Professional Services from a letter dated 7th September 2016:
“Corporate Centre areas have now agreed to mirror the approach taken in Operations. As long as adequate cover is in place at the end of the working day, and there is work to do at this time, then we will not limit the number of staff who make a commitment within their team to an 08:00 start, (thereby having the flexibility to start work at 07:30). This is a change in our position as this will now bring all roles in the Corporate Centre potentially in to scope to have an 08:00 fixed start, rather than the very limited number that we first proposed.”
